Are you the best at what you do?

Every morning, Jen goes out on the beach with the dog and sits in the sand. She literally grounds herself, touching the earth. She takes a moment to reset each day. Die hards, what are you doing each day to reset yourself? Grounding is something that literally everyone should take advantage of every day. Start each day in a direction you want to go. If you are starting out the day dreading what you have to do, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Remember that you are your own entrepreneur, and you can create your own space. You see the opportunity where you seize the opportunity. So put yourself in a winning position, and just go for it.
The next step to resetting yourself is to identify where your zone of genius is and how you can use that every day. Inspire yourself to want to go out the door in the morning instead of begrudging it. A lot of people during this quarantine time found out that they want to be doing something else. If that’s you, are you doing something about that? Or are you staying in the thing that feels safe but is painful for you?
We want you to ask yourself what your best skill is. How can you use that skill to help other people win? No matter what you’re doing right now, you can move towards something that will work for you.
Then, instead of just setting these goals, choose a date on the calendar by when you’re going to achieve them. Because if you don’t give yourself a deadline, it’s not going to happen. Figure out a date you want to get something done, and then work backward to figure out what you need to do to get there. Break down what you have to do into monthly, weekly, and daily tasks. And look at these tasks like wins. You might view winning as something kind of self-aggrandizing, but it doesn’t have to be. You’re allowed to win. So what are your inventions to get ready to win? Look at what you’re determined to do, and then do it.
There’s a great Mike Tyson quote: “Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.” You have to determine that you’re going to be able to do your game plan without getting punched in the face, moving forward, doing what you want to do, and having the desire and the discipline to be able to make it happen.
This year, make a commitment to be accountable to yourself for the actions you did or didn’t take. If you want to have a great year, you’re going to have to take on new personal responsibilities that will be accountable to only you, because nobody else is going to care whether you did it or not.
Here’s a challenge for you. Get out a check, and write one to yourself dated “December 31st, 2021.” The amount should be a stretch goal for what you’re going to “pay yourself” by the actions you take this year. Look at that check every day, and let it inspire you to take action to get there.
2021 is full of new opportunities, but you have to take action if you want to win. No one else is going to do this for you! Use the new year as the opportunity to set yourself up for greatness.
